For new riders the first year showing can be confusing. Please take time to get educated. You may also adopt a guardian parent who is experienced and can answer many of your questions before you have to call your instructor or Teddie. Entries have to be made for every horse show and the requirements change from horse show to horse show. The onus is on the riders to understand the requirements and to make their own entries. This can be done in conjunction with other stable riders and sometimes the stable.

  All competitors need to be a member.
• Equine Canada
  All competitors need to be a member, however there are different levels: bronze (for any show), silver (Trillium), gold and platinum.
• OHTA - Ontario Horse Trials Association
  Join if you plan to show above the entry level or go to more than two events. When you join you get the omnibus, prize list of events across the country, rules, dressage tests,entry forms, organizational executives of each province.
• Equine Canada Passport
  Horses need a passport if they are to show Trillium or better or Training level in eventing.
